# Message log

> Search individual WhatsApp messages and filter them by status on the Messages tab of Insights.

The **Messages** tab on the [Insights](https://docs.gateway.connexease.com/dashboard/insights/overview.md) page lists individual messages for the selected period, with their status and any error code. The channel, **All Apps**, and **Date** filters at the top of the page apply to this tab. See [Page controls](https://docs.gateway.connexease.com/dashboard/insights/overview.md#page-controls).

## Filter by status

The buttons above the list filter messages by status. Each button shows the number of messages with that status.

| Status | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **All** | All messages in the period. |
| **Read** | Messages read by the recipient. |
| **Delivered** | Messages delivered to the recipient. |
| **Sent** | Messages sent to the recipient. |
| **Failed** | Messages that failed after they were sent. |
| **Rejected** | Messages rejected before they were sent. |

Use **Search messages** to find a specific message.

## Message list

| Column | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Time** | Date and time of the message. |
| **Message ID** | Message identifier. |
| **Template** | Template name. Messages sent without a template show **Session message**. |
| **Category** | Message category, for example **Service**. |
| **Status** | Message status. |
| **Error** | Error code, for messages that failed or were rejected. See the [Errors](https://docs.gateway.connexease.com/dashboard/insights/errors.md) tab for what each code means. |
