When your API call returns HTTP 200, $0.001 is immediately deducted from your balance. This fee is independent of whether the message reaches the recipient.

What it covers

The fee applies to all successful sends, regardless of message type:
  • Text
  • Image, audio, video, document, sticker
  • Template
  • Interactive

What is not charged

A rejected request is not charged. If the Gateway returns an error — validation failure, rate limit, insufficient balance — no infrastructure fee is deducted, because the send did not succeed.
A delivery failure after a successful send is different: the API call returned 200, so the $0.001 was already charged. Only the Meta fee depends on delivery.
Use is_fake=true during development and testing. The billing pipeline runs, including the balance check, but no fee is deducted and the Meta API is not called.
